[ai_report]shortcode renders a report section with the platform’s live status, a one-click report form and a live “reports in the last hour” counter; detail panels include the form automatically. Your visitors’ reports are counted with the outage reports on is-down.ai, with no personal data stored. - Live auto-refresh in the visitor’s browser, on a gentle 60 to 300 second interval you control. Turn it off for zero JavaScript.
Built to be fast and polite
The plugin never calls our API while one of your pages is rendering. Status data is cached on your server and refreshed in the background, at most once per minute for the whole site, with conditional requests so unchanged data costs almost nothing. If is-down.ai is ever unreachable, your widgets keep showing the last known status with an honest “checked … ago” note. One small stylesheet and one optional 2 KB script load only on pages that actually contain a widget, and the fixed-size markup causes no layout shift.
Privacy
The plugin collects nothing from your site or your visitors. It only fetches public status data from is-down.ai; the request identifies the plugin version and your site address, which we count in aggregate to understand adoption. No cookies, no tracking, no account, no API key.
Installation
- Download the plugin ZIP.
- In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins, then Add New, then Upload Plugin, and choose the ZIP.
- Click Install Now, then Activate.
- Open Settings, then AI Status Widget, and build your first shortcode in the generator.

Frequently asked questions
Is the plugin really free?
Yes. The plugin is licensed GPL-2.0-or-later and the status API it reads is public. There is no premium tier, no account and no API key.
Will it slow my website down?
No. Widgets render from a local cache on your server, and that cache refreshes in the background, never during a page view. The optional auto-refresh script is about 2 KB and loads only on pages that contain a widget.
What data does the plugin send about my site or visitors?
None. It only fetches public status data from is-down.ai. The outgoing request carries the plugin version and your site address, which we use in aggregate to count installs. It never sends visitor data of any kind.

Can I remove the small is-down.ai credit under each widget?
No, and we say so upfront: the small credit line is the license of the widget. It is how the data stays free for everyone. If you need a white-label integration, contact us.

From the same pipeline as this website: each provider’s official status feed combined with our own reachability checks. The method is documented in full on our methodology page.
